Bernalillo County Launches Free Uber Rides for Halloween
With Halloween just around the corner, Bernalillo County officials are offering a free and safe ride program to help residents celebrate responsibly.
Program Overview
The “Take a Ride On Us” initiative is designed to reduce impaired driving during the holiday. By partnering with Uber, the county provides a complimentary ride home for anyone who might otherwise consider driving after drinking.
How to Redeem the Discount
To claim the offer, riders open the Uber app, navigate to the “vouchers” section, and enter the code HALLOW26. The code unlocks up to $10 off two separate trips. The discount applies only to Uber rides, not to Uber Eats orders, and does not cover driver tips.
| Detail | Information |

Key Dates and Times
The promotion begins on Friday, October 30 at 10 a.m. and runs through 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1. The county expects high demand, so the discount is available on a first‑come, first‑served basis for the first 2,500 rides.
Safety and Community Impact
By covering a portion of the ride cost, officials hope to lower the number of alcohol‑related traffic incidents. The program also encourages residents to use a reliable transportation option, reducing the risk of accidents and promoting community well‑being.
In summary, the “Take a Ride On Us” program offers a convenient, cost‑free way to get home safely after Halloween festivities, reinforcing the county’s commitment to public safety.
