Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) Announced with REDstreams Preview Event

CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its next major free update, dubbed the Edgerunners 2 Update (Patch 2.5) , on October 22nd. Ahead of the release, the studio will host a dedicated REDstreams broadcast on Wednesday, October 21st at 5 PM CEST to showcase the new features, including expanded cyberware customization and a brand-new dual-wielding combat playstyle.

The announcement continues the developer’s post-launch support strategy that has significantly rehabilitated the game’s reputation since its troubled 2020 debut. Following the massive 2.0 overhaul that accompanied the Phantom Liberty expansion in September 2023, subsequent updates have iterated on core systems, and Patch 2.5 appears positioned as a substantial content drop rather than a mere maintenance patch.
