What Is Connections?
Connections is a daily word puzzle from The New York Times that challenges players to group 16 words into four categories of four words each. The categories range from straightforward themes to more abstract connections, making each puzzle a test of both vocabulary and lateral thinking.
Today’s Difficulty Rating
Our testers rate each puzzle out of 5 according to its difficulty. They are paid to solve each puzzle in advance. Learn more about what they do. Today’s difficulty is 2.8 out of 5. Your own rating may differ, and a more personalized analysis is available at Connections Bot.
How to Get a Hint
In Connections, each category has a different difficulty level. Yellow is the simplest, and purple is the most difficult. Click or tap each level to reveal one of the words in that category. Use these hints wisely to guide your grouping without giving away the entire solution.
Strategy Tips
Start by identifying the most obvious group, often the yellow category. Look for words that share a common theme, such as types of fruit, synonyms, or cultural references. Once you have a solid group, the remaining words may fall into place more easily. Remember that categories can be based on parts of speech, historical periods, or even word lengths.
